**Suburban Rail Operator - SRO 2**:

- Req. Id: 5695- Date: 5 Jul 2023- Location: Mayne, QLD, AU, 4006- Company: Queensland RailWe currently have a permanent opportunity for a Suburban Rail Operator SR02 to join our SEQ Yards team. This role will supervise and manage all relevant operational tasks including shunting staff as they pertain to the safe movement of rollingstock in large metropolitan shunting yards to maintain safety, efficiency and productivity.

**In this role you will be responsible for**:

- Supervise and lead shunting staff in day-to-day operational duties including the maintenance of staffing level of the Mayne Shunting Yard to maintain efficiency, productivity and customer service.
- Ensure all rollingstock movements are carried out in accordance with Queensland Rail regulations, current legislation and relevant Safeworking and Local Operating procedures.
- Ensure trains are efficiently and correctly marshalled using knowledge of all passenger rollingstock including motive power and their capabilities.
- Provide local management of information regarding shunting, and train movements in the area of responsibility.
- Liaise with staff to ensure correct consists of trains are marshalled, despatched and returned as per customer requirements.
- Ensure effective communication is maintained by operating communication and computer equipment.
- Ensure that Workplace Health and Safety requirements are complied.

**To be successful you must be able to demonstrate the following**:

- High level of skills in shunting all types of rollingstock in heavy rail traffic movements.
- Substantial knowledge of Queensland Rail's Governance and Management Framework in relation to the Safety and Emergency Management System and WH&S.
- Substantial skills in leadership, staff motivation and communication which fosters a harmonious productive team environment.
- Substantial skill in supervising and managing day to day rosters.
- Substantial skills in deploying, reviewing and co-ordinating resources to provide a quality customer service.
- Substantial skills in operating points, local panels and communication equipment.
