**Description**:
Due to an acquisition, our internationally renowned food manufacturing client are seeking a National Business Manager - Wholesale & Independent, to join their team based in Melbourne.
This position is primarily responsible for driving profitable sales growth through the wholesale and independent grocery channels and will also be responsible for the potential management of broader foodservice when ready to develop and execute.
Reporting to the GM Sales & Marketing, this is a key sales leadership role. You will be responsible for the strategic sales plan across the wholesale and independent grocery channel with the aim to drive sustainable growth and partner with cross functional teams to improve process and outcomes that drive strong customer engagement.
You will have a team of 4 to lead, develop and mentor, driving a high-performance culture based on ownership and determination.

**Skills**:
- A natural leader with demonstrated capacity to lead and develop others to be their best
- A minimum of 5 years’ senior sales experience (Customer Management and /or Category Management)
- Strong and effective relationship and customer engagement building skills
- Strong working knowledge of Wholesaler and or Independent Grocery channels and customers
- Strategic thinker with a strong attention to detail who can execute
- Deep understanding of how to measure and drive customer sales performance
- Skilled negotiator
- Ability to communicate simply at all levels

Business Skills:

- Develop, implement and manage annual channel plans
- Develop, implement and manage customer business plans
- Evaluate effectiveness of existing pricing strategies, identify gaps and opportunities, and manage execution
- Co-ordinate and carry out tender presentations and commercial negotiations
- Build and cultivate professional, strategic and robust relationships with customers that drive growth
- Plan, Sell, Negotiate and Execute in a manner that builds trust and respect
