Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners for the above position in the Western Sydney Local Health District. The position will be primarily located at Westmead Hospital within the Department of Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery.

The position will be for the remainder of the current Clinical Year ending 4 February 2024.Appointees may be eligible for credentialing and privileging across all other facilities in the Western Sydney Local Health District.

Conditions of appointment are in accordance with the Staff Specialists (State) Award.

**Selection** **Criteria**:

- Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Possess Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS)** **or equivalent as provided for in the Staff Specialists (State) Award.
- Must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency. Possess or be eligible for a NSW driver’s licence.
- Sound clinical knowledge in Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery, Demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position.
- Demonstrated skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner including:

- High level interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team
- Experience and involvement in quality assurance activities and evidence-based best practice
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching and supervision
- Familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support basic, applied, or clinical research within the Department.
- Evidence of Continuing Medical Education and self-monitoring/audit practices that support credentialing to the position and are commensurate with the scope of practice requirements of the position.
- Subspecialty interest or expertise appropriate to the needs of the Department.
- Fellowship training in general Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery
