Human Resources Manager
We are a people powered business. So, we’re looking for a Human Resources Manager (Part Time) who recognises that culture is key - with the drive to create an enabling and empowering environment that brings the best out of our team. And delivers truly memorable experiences to our guests as a result.
Located on the corner of Sussex and Bathurst Streets, the newly built Crowne Plaza Sydney Darling Harbour is 152 modern guest rooms and suites vertically suspended in a prime position. Just a 5-minute stroll to the CBD's commercial and transport hub, the lively Darling Harbour precinct and the International Convention Centre. Access is easy and fast from Town Hall Train Station — only a short 3-minute walk from the hotel. Guests will unwind in design-led, modern and spacious rooms with the latest technology at their fingertips.
As the Human Resources Manager, you'll partner with the General Manager to bring to life and champion the Hotel's people strategy. Taking overall responsibility for HR Operations at the Hotel, you'll be responsible for all the standard things you'd expect; from driving colleague engagement and supporting the leadership team to fostering an environment of productivity and high performance, mitigating the risks associated with employee relations issues and ensuring compliance with systems and processes.
**Every day is different at IHG, but you’ll mostly be**:
- Welcome and assist in the onboarding and orientation process of new colleagues
- Creating programmes to foster a positive work environment for every single employee
- Supporting and administering an annual team member satisfaction survey
- Developing creative ways to inspire and motivate the team to provide exceptional guest experiences
- Managing employee records and ensuring compliance with relevant employee laws, policies and procedures
- Help create the Human Resources department budget and control expenses
- Educating and developing managers on HR principles to foster productivity and enhance performance of the team.
- Work with department managers to develop initiatives to reach service standards and drive continuous improvement in the guest experience.
- Welcome and assist in the onboarding and orientation process of new colleagues.
- Other ad-hoc duties - unexpected moments when we must pull together to get a task done
**What We need from you**:
- At least 2 years' experience as a HR professional. Previous exposure to such a role within Hotels/Hospitality would be highly regarded.
- Degree/qualifications in Human Resources preferred.
- A solid understanding of employee relations practices and business acumen is essential.
- A demonstrated capability of collaborating with multiple stakeholders and managing competing priorities.
- You will have a commercial lens around your approach and a track record of delivering vibrant and successful work environments through amazing leadership.
- A confident communicator across verbal and written platforms, you will have the ability to work alongside a dynamic team, coaching and leading individuals with varying capability.
- Strategic thinking, the ability to explore new ways of working and have an open mind around how we can drive the Hotel forward with regards to people space as well as its commercial returns will be advantageous.
- You must also meet the legal requirements to work in Australia without restrictions.
**What you can expect from us**:
We give our people everything they need to succeed. From a competitive salary that rewards all your hard work to a wide range of benefits designed to help you live your best work life - including a full uniform, impressive room discounts and some of the best training in the business.
Our mission is to welcome everyone and create inclusive teams where we celebrate difference and encourage colleagues to bring their whole selves to work. IHG Hotels & Resorts provides equal employment opportunities to applicants and employees without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability. We promote a culture of trust, support, and acceptance. Always welcoming different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
IHG gives every member of the team the room they need to belong, grow and make a difference in a collaborative environment. We know that to work well, we need to feel well - both inside and outside of work - and through our myWellbeing framework, we are committed to supporting wellbeing in your health, lifestyle, and workplace.
So, join us and you’ll become part of our ever-growing global family.
At IHG, we’ve made a promise. As one of the world’s leading hotel groups, we’re here to deliver True Hospitality for Good. Making our guests and colleagues feel welcome, cared for, recognised and respected - wherever they are in the world. Want to be part of the journey?
