**About the Role**- Promote total environmental awareness to employees, subcontractors and all persons in the job vicinity and stress to all employees and subcontractors the importance senior management attaches to environmental protection.
- Ensure that environmentally acceptable working methods and practices are implemented and that plant and equipment is made available, properly operated and maintained, to enable operations to be carried out without environmental harm.
- Ensure that environmental aspects are identified, risks assessed and control measures planned and implemented in consultation with relevant employees (WMSs & JSEAs).
- Promptly advise management of any issues that could be deleterious to the natural or built environments.
- Advise construction supervisors of the project and legal obligations in accordance with construction environmental management plan and associated documents.
- Ensure all activities are performed in compliance with the requirements of the relevant specifications, codes and standards, which form part of the contract and environmental legal obligations.
- Ensure that all personnel are inducted and trained and aware of their roles and responsibilities relating to environmental management and compliance.
- Assess and allocate priorities as necessary & advise the environmental manager or coordinator promptly
**About You**
- Trades qualification or experience relevant to the construction, building or manufacturing industries.
- Sound working knowledge of Environmental requirements and implementing of the same.
- Strong and proven ability to lead, direct and manage groups of diverse employees.
- Exceptional vigour and energy accompanied by good verbal and written communication skills.
