**About the organisation**

The Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission (VGCCC) is an independent statutory authority which regulates Victoria's gambling industry. The organisation licenses, informs and educates, monitors, and enforces the gambling industry through a risk-based approach to regulation. Underpinned by its values of “work together, act with integrity, respect others, make it happen, and act with courage and confidence” the VGCCC plays an important role in ensuring the integrity, safety and fairness of the gambling industry so that it delivers sustainable benefits to Victoria.

**The opportunity**

Reporting to the Director Gambling, the **Strategic Advisor **will be responsible for providing high level strategic and tactical advice across a diverse range of complex organisational and regulatory issues. The successful incumbent will also work closely with the Executive Team and is responsible for managing the Directors involvement in departmental requests for information.

This role operates within a dynamic environment that requires the capacity to exercise sound judgement in response to sensitive and emerging issues and at all times act with the utmost integrity. The position has an important role in building and managing constructive key stakeholder relationships both within and external to the organisation, leading strategic initiatives, identifying opportunities for improvement and facilitating the development of implementation and improvement plans.

**Key accountabilities**
- Provide high quality, authoritative and strategic advice to the Director Gambling Division.
- Provide detailed issues analysis, risk assessments and options development to the Gambling Division leadership; working closely with Divisional leadership to provide strategic guidance and advice to successfully uplift operational ways of working and translate theory into action in a real-world context.
- Work across divisional business units to support change management on behalf of the Director.
