**About the role**

The Board Secretary and Manager Government Relations is accountable to the Executive Director Corporate Affairs in leading the delivery of critical and strategic policy reform relating to Government Relations (GR) matters alongside the provision of effective high level support and strategic advice to the Minister, Chief Executive and other departmental executives on significant critical state and national reforms, agreements and issues impacting on the healthcare portfolios. This includes oversight of the provision of coordinated, high quality research, analysis, submissions, and correspondence, meeting papers, briefings, presentations, agendas and general organisation for meetings, out of session matters and interactions with related forums and working groups.

You will be responsible to provide high level support to the board by providing expert legal advice, in relation to compliance, risk management and contract management.

The role supports the effectiveness of the CALHN Governing Board members and board committees by monitoring and ensuring that board policy and procedures are followed, and coordinating the timely completion and despatch of board agenda and briefing material. The role is responsible for providing advice on alignment between strategy, governance, legislation and policies and to ensure that the organisation complies with its statutory obligations under any relevant laws and regulations.
