ANZ Agribusiness is a major financier to the Australian Agribusiness sector. With customers from a broad range of geographies and industries, a critical part of providing a quality and differentiated service offering is an in-depth understanding of the industry, its drivers and its key risks and opportunities.

Reporting to the Commercial Bank Head of Agribusiness, the Associate Director Agribusiness Research role is part of a team providing in-depth industry and sub-segment analysis across the sector to;
provide deep industry specific insights for customers, ANZ bankers and the wider agricultural industry
assist the bank internally in the continued sound management of the agribusiness portfolio and,
formulate business insights in a way that improves banker capability via implementation of key strategic initiatives

**Key areas of focus**:
Industry and commodity specific reports - including ANZ In Focus Quarterly Commodity Insights series and larger, more detailed industry reports
Whitepapers/speaking engagements - preparation for and delivery of for both internal and external audiences
Client and or credit risk specific industry reports
Active internal collaboration with frontline bankers and sales leaders, credit risk, the Commercial Agribusiness leadership team, ANZ Institutional Food Beverage and Agribusiness and the Head of Agribusiness.
The role will selectively be called upon to present to and discuss the research directly with external clients and ANZ executive.
Assist in determining output/research reports and mapping out responsibilities for publication and delivery
Assist in determining how industry research fits in to the sales process, and how it is best used by stakeholders to deliver value to clients
Undertake research to assist in decision making, with regards to internal policy guidelines and credit risk procedures
Building strong relationships with management, clients and stakeholders, particularly the Agri and Specialist Distribution teams.
Liaise closely with other research departments (i.e. economics research) to ensure industry research delivers a unique and value-add product to its stakeholders, bother internally and externally, and is distinct from existing economics & market research.
Liaise with external industry experts across a variety of fields
Assist ANZ's Agri division to achieve financial targets through the provision of quality, accurate and timely industry information - assisting both the sales process and customer engagement

**Compliance & risk management**: ensure appropriate procedures are introduced to mitigate potential risk factors

**Role Location**: Anywhere in Australia

**Role Type**: 12-month Secondment/ Fixed-term, Full-time hours

- Previous experience in research or equivalent function
Demonstrated understanding of industries in Australia and with specific knowledge of Agribusiness and Australian agricultural production and supply chains
Experience with the end-to-end research processes
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Strong customer focus for understanding customer drivers and delivering solutions to meet their needs
Ability to organise workflow and time management skills
Ability to work autonomously, and within a team environment
Strong problem and analytical skills with concern for quality and standards
