The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), the principal organisation representing the medical specialty of psychiatry in Australia and New Zealand, is seeking an experienced Manager, Practice and Standards to join our Practice, Policy and Partnerships team.

Reporting to the Executive Manager, this role will primarily be responsible to deliver on outcomes to support and advance best practice clinical and professional practice in psychiatry. Working with College committees and members, this role requires strong consultation, analytical, and writing skills to research and develop clinical and professional practice resources suitable for dissemination to psychiatrists, other clinicians and stakeholder organisations.

**This role has a specific focus to**:

- Proactively delivering practice and standards outcomes within a deadline driven environment.
- Managing the prioritisation, development, approval and dissemination of professional practice guidelines, ethical guidelines and clinical practice guidance.
- Coordinating contributions to external clinical practice and standards consultation processes and inquiries, including preparing commentaries, responses and submissions to government and other stakeholders.
- Developing evidence-based responses to inform advocacy relating to access to treatments for mental illness.
- Managing the development and coordination of practice and standards submissions for the weekly Executive Management meeting.
- Providing coordination of practice and standards work to the Practice, Policy and Partnerships Committee (PPPC) its constituent committees, and other relevant Faculties, Sections and Network committees.
- Preparing and coordinating high-level briefing papers, reports, and responses for the College Board, the PPPC and its constituent committees and working groups.
- Proactively identifying and analysing government developments relating to the College especially with regard to mental health research, clinical practice, and standards.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in developing and disseminating evidence-based practice and quality improvement resources for specialist medical practice in Australia and New Zealand.
- Highly developed research and analytical skills with demonstrated ability to research, analyse and formulate options, implement decisions, and review outcomes.
- Experience in clinical practice guideline development is desirable.
- Experience in the support of Committees and Working Groups is highly desirable.
- Strong ability to develop and maintain working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders including clinicians, consumers, and carers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to prepare briefings and discussion papers which are methodical and coherent in researching complex issues and making recommendations, often within tight time frames.
- Demonstrated ability to organise, prioritise and progress tasks and projects, using well-developed IT skills.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills including the ability to plan, set priorities, and meet deadlines with the flexibility to alter priorities to meet changing demands.
