**About the Role**:
The Manager, Student Protection (DFV) is responsible for leading or contributing to the department's involvement in system-wide reforms to end DFV in Queensland and developing and maintaining the department's resources in relation to supporting students and families experiencing DFV.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- responding to queries from staff or external agencies about families experiencing DFV and identifying opportunities for system enhancements to better support these families;
- developing procedures, guidelines, information and training resources to raise staff awareness about DFV and support staff in state schools and regional offices when responding to the needs of victim survivors and their children;
- liaising with officers from other Divisions about the department's actions to address recommendations in whole-of-government DFV strategies/plans and reports, and providing advice on these actions to senior officers and/or external agencies, as required.

Highly desirable skills and experience;
- excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to sensitively and professionally manage interactions with victim survivors, external agencies and school and regional staff;
- demonstrated ability to gather and critically analyse information and provide high quality advice and/or briefings;
- demonstrated ability to develop resources that ensure compliance with legislation, address commitments under system reforms and/or help staff support families experiencing DFV;
- demonstrated ability to build and sustain effective working relationships and networks, and actively contribute to the wider Student Protection management team;
- knowledge of or the ability to acquire knowledge of the department and applicable child protection, DFV and education legislation, policies and procedures.
