**Your Role**:As the Manager you will**:

- Provide leadership and direction in the planning and implementation of the unit's priorities, ensuring that the outcomes are aligned to, and supportive of, the department's agenda.
- Provide high level strategic advice to senior officers of the department and other key stakeholders on issues relevant to the specific accountabilities of the role.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of the unit's priorities.

**Responsibilities include**:

- providing high level advice and support to senior officers of the department on policy and strategy.
- contributing, as a member of the senior management team, to setting the strategic direction for the team and branch, including ensuring the effectiveness of bullying prevention and response policies, standards and procedures.
- leading and managing multiple people and projects, and coordinating the development of systemic initiatives, resources and professional development.
- ensuring the optimal use of human and financial resources to achieve agreed goals, oversee the management of State and Commonwealth funds, where applicable, and manage reporting requirements.
- ensuring effective communication, integration, coordination and liaison occurs with internal and external stakeholders and clients to ensure the effective implementation of Division priorities for all students in state schools.
- preparing and reviewing briefing material, correspondence and reports for the Minister, senior departmental officers, government agencies and other entities on issues related to the functional area of the branch at state, national and international levels.
- using, modelling and building team, school and regional staff capability in effective and productive work practices - enabled by digital technologies.
- providing ongoing evaluation of the activities and work practices within the functional area of the position to ensure alignment with changing corporate goals.
- An understanding of, and experience involving, Queensland's state schools.
