**Your role**

Public Defenders provide legal representation to people charged with serious criminal offences who have been granted legal aid for their court case.

**What you’ll do**

Provide legal, clerical, administrative and executive support to the Senior Public Defender, Deputy Senior Public Defender, Public Defenders and Chambers Manager.

You will also.
- Provide legal, clerical, administrative and executive support and high-quality client service in a professional manner.
- Undertake legal research and make enquiries as directed by Public Defenders.
- Answering and screening telephone calls and enquiries in a professional and responsive manner.
- Provide word-processing and data entry services and draft submissions, correspondence, such as, letters, memoranda, agenda, briefing notes and related documentation in line with departmental approved style guidelines and policies/procedures.
- Assist in the co-ordination, as required of diary and the commitments of Public Defenders, including arranging of travel and meetings etc.
- Prioritising own workload and managing competing deadlines.

**What we’re looking for**

Experience in providing legal, clerical, and administrative support to senior executives.
- National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014
- Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012
