**Salary**:Clerk Grade 5/6 Salary ($93,295- $102,941) + Superannuation + Annual Leave Loading.

**Position Type**: Temporary 12 months: This position is open to Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants only.

**Location**: City Community Corrections, Darlinghurst

We are innovative and are involved in numerous initiatives that support working differently with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people on supervision orders. These include the development of development of the Walama List, (intensive pre-sentence case management), the Byala Team (post sentence case management), City Art Project, working off site at Bwaga Ngara reporting centre and we are a pilot site for the Improving Aboriginal Outcomes initiative.

**What we’re looking for**

We recognise the importance of connection with our local communities and we are looking for proactive, dedicated and innovative individual to join our team as Aboriginal Community Engagement and Culture Officer at the City Community Corrections District Office.

**What you’ll do**

As an Aboriginal Community Engagement and Culture Officer you will provide advice and support to Community Corrections in the case management of identified offender groups in a culturally sensitive manner and ensure appropriate case plans and supervision is implemented consistent with CSNSW mission of reduction of re-offending.

You will also identify and build collaborative community networks and partnerships to improve the effectiveness of community offender programs for identified offender groups.

**Essential requirements**

- Current and valid driving licence and willingness to travel within NSW
- Knowledge of Aboriginal culture and history

Either will be accepted:

- Confirmation of Aboriginality form

or
- Written confirmation from 2-3 Aboriginal organisations within the community in which you live/work, which addresses the three criteria listed below:

- is of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, and
- identifies as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, and
- is accepted as a such by the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community.
