**About the role**:
We have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team leading our approach to the provision of quality care to clients of the Health Information Services Department. The HIS Reliever Grade 3 administrative officer is responsible for participating in providing an efficient medical record service to St Vincents Public Hospital between 830 hours and 1700 hours. This position will be required to provide coverage of the evening and weekend shifts when the incumbent staff are on leave, the areas that will require coverage are Reception, Discharge, Looseleaf section and PAS room. The successful applicant will be expected to answer phone calls from both internal and external requestors, to perform markback and sorting records, to merge loose admissions notes, to retrieve records for the Day Procedure Centre, to distribute looseleafs and assemble recent admission following patient’s separation from hospital. They will also be responsible for assisting with medico-legal and other requests for patient information, whilst ensuring the patient’s right to privacy and confidentiality is maintained at all times.

**Selection Criteria**

1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia

2. Previous clerical experience within in a Health Care environment.

3. Demonstrated experience using CorePas or a similar patient administration system.

4. Demonstrated sound interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).

5. Demonstrated ability to work with mínimal supervision and effectively as part of a team.

6. Attention to detail.

7.Demonstrated high level customer service skills. Demonstrated ability to prioritise work and adhere to deadlines.
