About the Role
Drive a procurement culture of best practice negotiations, market testing strategies and process improvements to facilitate budget achievement;
Develop strategies and competency in the Purchasing team to deliver strong parts and service delivery contracts that meet capacity and quality requirements through the global supply base;
Provide leadership and coaching to the Purchasing team to facilitate strong insight into the market for the commodities assigned, including industry trends, cost drivers, global pricing, lead-times, technology, and manufacturing capability of company suppliers;
Strategically manage supplier relationships and performance to meet company expectations and objectives;
Build strong internal working relationships with key stakeholders such to influence business strategy based upon risks arising from market conditions and supply base activity;
Analyse and Identify areas requiring process improvement and lead through a team-based effort to implement improvements; and
Drive a continuous improvement culture through the supplier base through quality audits, training, and parts certification as required.
Skills & Experience
Within the context of the role described above, the ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key experience/capabilities:
Management experience of purchasing functions both (both direct and indirect purchasing);
Coaching skills to transfer knowledge and develop purchasing skills in less experienced procurement personnel;
Ability to develop, track and deliver budgets set for the Purchasing function;
Ability to track economic and market trends of various key cost drivers to make fully informed strategic sourcing decisions;
Sound administrative skills with capability to manage multiple priorities;
Advanced negotiation experience;
Ability to build strong working relationships internally and externally to the organization;
Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders in business strategies;
Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office programs; and
SAP experience
