Hays are currently recruiting for a Purchasing and Supply Chain Manager within a manufacturing environment

Our client is the one of the largest manufacturers and the global leader for supplying commercial vehicles components, trucks, and trailers.

As a part of this organisation, you will be responsible to ensure a clear and direct report to satisfy all customers while achieving and maintain the goals within the business.

**Your new role**

Reporting to the Supply Chain Director, this role will be responsible to drive overall supplier performance across the company including cost, quality, delivery & continuous improvement.

You will be managing the end to end material forecast, production planning and control, as well as role modelling the leadership behaviours to create a high performing engaged culture.

**Roles and responsibilities include**:

- Develop and implement appropriate sourcing strategies to control companies purchased material and services costs
- Management of a team of 5 direct reports across procurement purchasing and logistics
- Woking with internal and external stakeholders to ensure demand and supply is appropriately forecasted and lead times are managed
- Establish, maintain and improve material planning with the utilisation of a continued improvement focus
- Managing the inbound and outbound movement of goods, ensuring supply chain efficiency working with logistics and supply chain focused stakeholders
- Ensuring DIFOT is maintained above the current standard of 99.5%
- Negotiating local and global supplier contracts and service level agreements
- Demonstrating behaviour consistent with the organisation’s ethical standards
- Drive continues improvement in all procurement and financial aspects for the overall business
- Plan and report inventory forecast working within the local and global reporting structure
- Ensure companies policies and procedures are compliant with FWA and WHS legislation
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and the business community

**What you'll need to succeed**

To be successful in this role, you'll be leader with 10+ years of experience within a technical manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of procurement and supply chain processes.

You will have managed a team of 5-10, as well as have the ability to listen, react and influence while looking over the broader business.

An industrial or heavy automotive background will be highly regarded.
