About the position:
As our Infrastructure Fault Officer, you’ll be responsible for the issuing of reactive maintenance work orders across a variety of disciplines, including OCS (Operational Control Systems), Track, Structures, Civil, and more.

You’ll work with the main focus of ensuring that all responses are actioned in a timely and effective manner, detailing the fault into reporting systems to ensure that the responding staff have all the information required. To “hit the ground running”, you’ll need the ability to extract key information so you can best support our stakeholders in their reactive maintenance activities.

This position will be working Monday to Friday on a rotating roster between 6:00am to 9:00pm, based from our modern Collins Street office with state-of-the-art technology.

Responsibilities include:

- Receive, evaluate and allocate work requests for reactive maintenance activities.
- Provide timely and accurate advice to incoming callers, ensuring issues are resolved in accordance with our service level agreement and issue resolution procedure.
- Liaise and provide assistance to department maintenance Production Managers/Supervisors.
- Maintain regular contact with station and depot staff, becoming familiar with asset condition in the field to forecast perceived problem areas that can be targeted for special attention.
- Update all faults and activities on a database regularly, reporting progress as delivered by the contractors or person attending.
- Develop and refine the reporting system/procedures, ensuring service is the most effective and promotes the 'one stop shop' concept to building, faults and maintenance.
- Support the achievements of Balance Scorecard Objectives, adhering to all legislative and regulatory requirements.

About you:

- Possess a Train Track Safety Awareness Certificate (Track Access requirements) or be willing to obtain.
- Conversant with Microsoft Office, Outlook and Excel.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with all levels of management and staff (verbal and written).
- First Aid Level 2 - preferred.
- Experience in infrastructure maintenance works - preferred.
- Detailed knowledge of assets including station buildings, depot buildings and their environments - preferred.
