**About the role**
We have a great opportunity for a **Manager, Market Analytics** to join our Sales and Marketing team here at Peabody, based in Brisbane. Reporting to our Director, Sales Marketing and Optimisation. This position leads Peabody’s Seaborne market analytics function, including the collation, summarisation and presentation of market intelligence and the contribution to both internal & external communication of marketing strategy and performance. The role offers a broad mandate and the opportunity to engage with multiple senior stakeholders within the business
Other responsibilities include:
- Timely execution to undertake global market analysis relevant to the sale and trade of thermal and metallurgical coal, including supply & demand, trade flow, pricing and competitor benchmarking.
- Contribute to the collation and presentation of market and sales analysis for delivery to internal and external stakeholders.
- Guide sales strategy and tactics through deep analysis of sales book, contribute to identification of medium-term customer opportunities and short-term customer benchmarking.
- Own relationship with external market intelligence and brokerage parties, including negotiation and renewal of subscriptions within budget.
- Ensure activities comply with safety, environmental, and statutory requirements.
- Act in accordance with and adhere to Safety as a Way of Life Management System
**The lifestyle**:
This position is offered on a Monday to Friday basis, working from our Fortitude Valley office with working from home options. Peabody offers flexible start / finish times and ‘redistributed working week’ giving employees flexibility to finish at noon on Friday’s.
**About you**:
A successful applicant will be commercially driven and tertiary qualified in a relevant discipline. You will find fast paced, transactional environments motivating, and you will be able to balance ‘big picture’ thinking at the same time as demonstrating exceptional attention to detail in your modelling and analysis. You will have strong written and communication skills with the ability to communicate complex market concepts to a range of stakeholder.
Your experience in the resources industry and your interest in the full value-chain of commodity transactions, including derivatives and ocean freight, will set you up for success in this role.
