Payroll Officer

**Responsibilities include but not limited to**:
- Maintenance of the payroll system
- Update and maintain accurate payroll records
- Liaise with staff and management on payroll related queries
- Maintain leave, sick and overtime reports
- Reporting to meet internal and statutory obligations
- Calculate and process termination payments
- Process, variations, increases and calculation of back pays
- Preparation and payment of superannuation, work cover and other payroll deductions
- Process salary packaging and liaison with external salary packaging administrators
- Maintain administrative procedures and systems, which enhance the delivery of services
- Identify opportunities for improving efficiencies, policies, procedures, and practices.
**Key Competencies/Qualifications**
- Capability to make decisions and be accountable for these decisions.
- Sound judgement
- Outstanding customer service
- Strong attention to detail
- Time management skills
- Excellent troubleshooting and sound problem-solving skills
- Experience in time and attendance roster systems.
- Proven computer literacy (MS windows, office, outlook)
- Numerical and reconciling ability and data entry skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
- Understanding of payroll legislation and processes
- Ability to interpret awards and relevant legislation
- 3-5 years of experience in a payroll processing and administration
- Experience in the aged care/disability sector or not for profit environment (desirable)
- Experience with Preceda and Emplive (desirable)
- Certificate IV Payroll Administration or equivalent experience (desirable)
