The Cancer Institute NSW is the NSW Government’s cancer control agency, established to lessen the impact of cancer across the state.

**_What you’ll be doing_**
In this role you will be required to support the data & research governance systems and practices used across the Institute, as well as provide high level operational support and technical advice to allow the institute to continue to strategically scale its operations across data engineering, advanced analytics and reporting, strategic research engagement and partnerships.
This role will provide operational support and technical advice relating to the implementation of the Institute Data Strategy Project Plan and work closely with the Chief Data Officer to drive a range of data related projects designed to promote the safe and increased access and utilisation of Institute data assets, to continue to enhance the Institute’s reputation as a leader in the data space.
Reporting to the Chief Data Officer, you will have extensive experience and managing data governance programs and related systems in a complex organisation and a strong grasp of data management strategies. Essential to the role will be your ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, and work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team to deliver the Institute Data Strategy.

**_Essential requirements_**
- Experience of leading a data governance program including the, implementation of, principles, processes, practices and tools related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection
- Knowledge of relevant statutory frameworks related to data governance
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience in information management or data governance
