**About the role
This is a Group level role where you will be responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring and review of JBS people risk strategies and governance programs to eliminate, minimise and/or mitigate safety risk across all business areas.

Reporting to the Head of Risk you will be accountable for maintaining internal systems to ensure governance programs meet the needs of the various business units and key external reporting requirements. Leading the steering group, you will partner with Operational Business Leaders and Safety leaders within the various business units to review the Safety Management System including the incident reporting and contractor management systems.
- Prepare reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies.
- Develop and implement new policies/procedures and end user resources for emerging risk areas as required.
- Serve as liaison to various internal and external auditors regarding documentation, compliance and ongoing review of information and processes.
- Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company and evolving best practices in compliance control.

**About you
You are a seasoned safety practitioner, energetic, passionate and enthusiastic with a demonstrated focus on systems improvement. It’s expected that you hold relevant tertiary qualifications with advanced knowledge of OH&S federal and state legislation and best practices. You have a strong breadth of experience in auditing, safety and assurance systems experience. You are methodical and process driven whilst being flexible and adaptable. You have a curious and analytical mind and the ability to interpret complex information and simplify it for your audience. You are bright and engaging with a strong partnering approach and the ability to build and foster great working relationships in complex environments. You are resilient and patient with the ability to take organisations on a journey. Your previous experience working in complex risk environments and large matrix organisations will help you navigate the JBS Group landscape.
