About the role

PeopleIN Group Safety Manager is responsible for the operational delivery of occupational health & safety practices, ensuring compliance with workplace safety legislation, and best practice in the provision of a safe workplace for all internal staff and on-site workers.


This role will manage emergency management activities with the WHS local teams, and support the risk management, governance, risk, and compliance strategies across the PeopleIN group of companies.


Other responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for the successful implementation of the National Health and Safety Strategy including the implementation of a centralised safety management solution
  • Ensure an effective proactive safety management system is embedded, driven and utilised to reduce Risk, Hazard injury or illness to all stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with the HSE management system and company policies, procedures and risk management processes.
  • Evolve and communicate compliance standards with the onboarding process for onhire staff, clients and internals teams
  • Maintain accreditations and establish our ISO4500
  • Leading and driving safety auditing and inspections with host client by upskilling internal teams on how to perform Inspections, Safety interactions, Safe act observations, Hazard ID and positive safety culture
  • Conduct incident investigations, determine root causes, recommend and implement appropriate corrective actions and controls
  • Lead Tender support
  • Collate and analyse incident data and trends and conduct systems and people analysis and recommend improvements, reporting monthly to the Board of Directors.

About you

To be successful in this role you will be a strong communicator with the ability to build relationships across the business at all levels.

You will be career focused with the drive to take on further opportunities and challenges as they arise.

You will also have:

  • Formal qualification in Health and Safety
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in a similar role in a relevant industry
  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret health & safety legislation and regulations.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to lead, persuade, negotiate, consult with, and provide advice on Safety work policies and procedures
  • Ability to effectively lead the coordination of Investigations, ICAM and host client visits
  • Highly developed decisionmaking capability, competence in making timely and effective decisions, with an ability to identify opportunities for improvement and commitment to drive outcomes
