  • Leadership opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Systems Manager
  • Brisbane based
Due to an internal promotion, our client is in a period of exciting change and ongoing growth.

As a result, we are seeking a consultative and specialist Health, Safety and Environment Systems Manager to join the H&S group.

This is an integral role in developing and delivering successful health and safety system initiatives.

With a strong and trusted internal business partnering ethos you and your team will provide assurance and coaching to site-based employees, including contractors, whilst ensuring high-quality and insightful data analysis and reporting is delivered to key corporate stakeholders.

Your keen interest in continuous improvement will be key as you will drive the improvement initiatives of the health and safety management system.

As a Health and Safety Systems expert, you will provide clear leadership and coaching to your team and internal and external stakeholders.

Utilising your high level of business partnering as a strategic and operational lead, you will leverage and develop recommendations in line with the organisation's strategic plan on a group-wide basis.

Critically you will ensure the timely and accurate delivery of operational reporting and analysis improvements while understanding the key drivers and risks associated with site-based employees.

We are seeking H&S talent who can demonstrate the following;

  • Proven experience in successfully leading multidisciplinary teams of safety professionals within audit, health and safety management systems and system improvement whilst servicing multiple stakeholders within large, highrisk, complex organisations.
  • Practical experience in Work Health and Safety with a demonstrated understanding of relevant legislation, policies, Australian Safety Standards, and risk management practices.
  • A clear, consultative leadership approach, providing coaching, mentoring and guidance enabling all people leaders to lead cultural and behavioural change as second nature.
  • Sound relationship management skills across a broad stakeholder group with your ability to influence and build credibility through collaboration and delivery of major H&S systems projects.
  • Working in a dynamic and changing environment, including management of competing priorities.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail and ability to write and review adaptive and effective reports and documents pending your audience.
To be considered for this position, you will have;

  • Formal tertiary qualifications in Health, Safety and Environment or a related discipline.
  • Health & Safety Systems and leadership experience within energy, oil & gas, mining, mining services or heavy infrastructure sectors.
  • A genuine passion for Health and Safety best practices.


Employment is conditional upon completing all pre-employment medical and police background checks, and you will hold a current and clean driver's licence.
