**About the role**

To undertake and provide support for the modelling, optimisation of the procurement of commodities and service that constitute the cost to supply electricity up to and including the generation segment of Horizon Power’s supply chain. These commodities and services comprise natural gas, gas transport, diesel, water, electricity, carbon and/or renewable energy certificates and alternative fuels (that may in future include hydrogen). Some responsibilities of the role will include;
- Facilitate safety in the workplace.
- Supporting the Manager Energy & Analytics in the optimisation of Horizon Power’s supply chain to reduce the cost to supply electricity.
- Support E&A’s Energy & Generation Manager and Commercial Manager (Microgrids) with the modelling of opportunities, writing of business cases and drafting of contracts.
- Identify commercial drivers and develop models to analyse such drivers of relevant contracts under the management of E&A.
- In conjunction with Finance Department, develop and monitor budgets, obtain financial review of business cases and D&E forecasting data.Development of system for costing and pricing frameworks.
- Assist with the development of suitable contractual strategies to deliver corporate objectives.
- Optimise the procurement of supply chain commodities and services that impact cost to supply energy.
- The drafting of relevant Business Cases, briefing notes when required.
- Generate values and opportunity costs for options within contracts in preparation for negotiations and contractual disputes.
- Manage (with input from E&A staff) monthly and annual variance analysis reporting against optimised plans.

In addition to sharing our passion, to be successful in this role you will have:

- A Bachelor of Commerce/Economics/Engineering/Law
- Demonstrated experience in a commercial environment.
- Business case writing and contract drafting.
- Proven ability to understand, model and analyse complex issues and resolve such into workable proposals and solutions.
- Ability to clearly and coherently articulate information in both written and verbal communications.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative when required.
- Ability to work in a team and follow instructions diligently with precision.
