The Duty Manager of a pool plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and smooth operation of the facility while providing an enjoyable experience for all visitors. The Duty Manager is a crucial link between pool patrons, lifeguards, and other staff members, ensuring a positive experience for all visitors.
**About this opportunity**
The duty manager ensures that all aspects of the pool facility run smoothly, efficiently, and in compliance. They monitor and maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the pool and surrounding areas, support a team of lifeguards, create work schedules, allocate tasks, and provide training and guidance to staff members. This position requires a balance of managerial skills, safety awareness, and customer service to create a positive and welcoming environment for all pool users.
**What will you bring**
By joining our team, you will bring the following/ideally you will have:
- Lifeguard certification
- CPR and First Aid certifications
- Prior experience in lifeguarding is preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical fitness and the ability to respond swiftly in emergency situations
- Basic computer skills for administrative tasks
**First Aid and Lifeguard Training**:
You must hold a valid First Aid Certificate valid until November 2024 for your lifeguard qualification to be accredited.

Alexandra, 5.30 - 7.30 pm, $170
- 7 & 8 October - Lifeguard Training
Seymour, 8.30 - 5 pm, $360 (CPR included)
- 15 October - Lifeguard Refresher
Seymour, 8.30 - 5 pm, $180 (CPR included)
**Please note**: Training is at your own cost; you will be invoiced for payment by Council.

- Provides evidence of eligibility to work in Australia

Alternatively, you will require either a valid medical exemption or an exemption under Council’s COVID-19 Safe Workplace and Vaccination Policy. A copy of the policy is available on request.
- Undertakes a Police Check and, where applicable to the role, provides a current Working with Children Check
- Is able to travel to different work sites within the Murrindindi Shire, such as providing evidence of a current Victorian Driver’s licence
