The Cultural Tour Guide is responsible for leading groups of diverse visitors safely and seamlessly on Country, utilising best-practice guiding and tourism operational procedures at all times. It is the role of the Tour Guide to showcase Taungurung cultural values, heritage, language and stories in a way that will emotionally connect visitors and educate them about culture and Country.

The Community and Culture team is the key conduit between the corporation and the Taungurung community. The team oversees cultural programs, projects, and events while listening, sharing, and collaborating with TLaWC members to proactively plan accessible and meaningful ways for mob to come together and feel connected. We pride ourselves on supporting the needs and aspirations of the Taungurung Nation first and foremost and extend support to our external partners where possible and appropriate. The primary functions of the division include cultural awareness and ceremony, cultural tourism experiences (wawa biik), facilitation of our specialist community advisory groups, membership engagement, support for youth, education, language revitalisation, and the preservation and sharing of cultural knowledge.

**Reports to**: Cultural Experiences Development Manager
**Status**: Casual
**Location**: Broadford or Alexandra (with travel across Country required)

**Key Duties**
- Lead responsible and enjoyable experiences in accordance with wawa biik brand values and TLaWC policies and guidelines
- Provide excellent customer service and cultural interpretation to a diversity of visitors, tailoring the messaging to the audience
- Display commitment to best practice guiding and self-directed learning and development to continuously improve the visitor experience and your own experience of the role
- Educate visitors to be respectful of our natural and cultural environments
- Comply with all safety polices, procedures and work instructions to support a safe work environment for all staff

**To work with TLaWC applicants must have**
- An understanding of the importance of Country to Traditional Owners and the recognition of Taungurung as Traditional Owners
- An ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal people
- A commitment to Aboriginal self determination
- Adherence to the code of conduct
