**This position is specific in what Allcare Disabilities Australia is seeking**
Shifts are scheduled according to client requests.
These may range from a 2 hour shift to a 10 hour shift and may include overnight stays (sleepover shift).
Considerations in matching new support workers with clients include shift availability, location, previous experience or qualifications, as well as personal attributes. At times, this may be at short notice to backfill due to another employee’s illness etc.
Flexibility is a key attribute of a successful support worker and is a consideration when rostering and offering shifts. Use of the support worker’s own vehicle is a requirement when working with some families. In these instances, proof of registration and statement of vehicle safety is required.
This applies to all in-home and community access programs, however the organisation owns and maintains a fleet of vehicles, which are utilised prior to employees using their own vehicle.
**Allcare Disabilities Australia** is a growing NDIS disability service provider operating in Southwest Sydney and supports participants across the Sydney region. Our passionate and dedicated employees assist our participants with all aspects of their daily lives including:
- Community Participation and Social Assistance
- In home supports (including domestic assistance and personal/self-care)
- Supported Accommodation (SIL)
- Day Programs.
This includes supporting their individual goals, improving their social inclusion, and achieving a higher level of independence through ongoing capacity building assistance.
**Experience in mental health or Behavioural Complex Support required**
Role Activities
Work with the Operations Co-Ordinator to implement participant’s individualised care plan.
- Assist participants to access their local community and attend appointments as required.
- Assist participants to complete their personal/self-care routine and activities.
- Provide capacity building assistance (eg. travel training/financial management) - where applicable.
- Support their independence through guidance of decision making.
- Monitor client’s behaviour and oversee the implementation of their activities.
- Maintain a high standard of incident reports, including submission of daily progress notes.
- Support clients needs through clear communication and interpersonal abilities.
