**About the Role**:
The Incident Management Business Officer is accountable to the Director, Incident Management and is responsible for coordinating IMD’s response on matters involving external agencies, including ICAC, TRB, ESB, Coroner’s Office, OPI and the Ombudsman, or internal requests from the Chief Executive/Minister including Freedom of Information (FOI), Parliamentary Briefing Notes and Coronial Inquests.

The Incident Management Business Officer prepares high level communications, briefings and documents that are capable of withstanding internal and external scrutiny in line with organisation and government policy, common law and legislative standards, and provides significant expertise and advice to IMD policies and processes.

The Incident Management Business Officer also provides support to IMD’s panels and committees, including complex or sensitive inquiries and qualitative analysis of evidence, that supports the effective risk assessment of serious misconduct matters or potential risks to the safety of children and young people.

The work is challenging and highly sensitive. Staff within IMD must maintain high levels of confidentiality, professionalism and ethical conduct.

**Qualifications**:
Desirable:

- Qualification in legal services or law.
- Legal or para legal experience.
- Appropriate tertiary or post graduate qualification in public administration or education.

**Special Conditions**:
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

**Remuneration**:
ASO7 $104,938 - $113,435 per annum.
