Defence and National Security Compliance Officer

The Defence and National Security Compliance Officer is responsible for implementing the framework designed to ensure that the University of Adelaide meets its requirements of the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) and other National Security related compliance obligations. The role involves interpretation of complex legislation and guidelines, and the provision of advice to staff, titleholders, students and senior management. The position will also support the implementation of clear reporting processes, the development of education and training materials, report writing and implementation of audit, monitoring and review processes.

**To be successful you will need**:

- Demonstrated ability to interpret regulatory policies, principles and guidelines and provide strategic advice;
- Demonstrated ability to implement new policies and procedures;
- Demonstrated organisational/project management skills including the ability to use initiative, exercise good judgement, meet deadlines, prioritise competing demands and maintain work accuracy;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and negotiation skills, including the ability to liaise and establish productive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and to deal with client inquiries;
- The ability to be granted and then maintain a Negative Vetting 2 security clearance.
