The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority, and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state.The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 per cent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.
About the role
The role of the Manager, People Services is to manage and lead the people services functions of MCV. The People Services Team are responsible for supporting magistrates, judicial registrars, senior managers and staff. The MCV is the largest court jurisdiction in Victoria employing over 1200 judicial officers and VPS staff. The people services function includes the full suite of people related services, other than payroll, which is provided by Court Services Victoria.
The Manager, People services reports to the Senior Manager, People & Culture.
A major focus of the role is to lead the people services team and to work in partnership with senior and middle managers across the State, to support them to manage local people management issues. The people services function sits within the People and Innovation business unit.
About you
A graduate or post-graduate degree in human resources (or equivalent) would be highly regarded.
