**About - Strategy and Culture (Communications and Marketing)**

The University’s Communications and Marketing function provides strategic, advisory and operational services to support the academic mission and the University strategy. It fosters a culture of best practice and collaboration across the University’s communication and marketing teams and stakeholders and uses data-driven insights to inform decision-making across the University.

**About the Role**

This Communications Manager (Diversity and Inclusion and Respect) is an exciting opportunity to play a vital, influential role in implementing ambitious strategies that will have real impact on staff, students and the community. You will have an opportunity to partner closely with a broad range of stakeholders including senior executives to deliver communication strategies and provide strategic, best-for-business advice and influence outcomes.

Reporting to the Associate Director, Strategic Communications, The Communications Manager will deliver proactive and reactive strategic communications and stakeholder engagement plans with a particular focus on Diversity and Inclusion and the Respect program of work, spanning the full range of strategic communications disciplines, including media relations, stakeholder engagement, internal communications, issues management and corporate event management.

The role will partner closely with stakeholders across the University including senior executives across Diversity & Inclusion and strategic people initiatives, as well as key deputy and pro vice chancellors and requires a deep understanding of a diverse stakeholder groups and audiences to capture and promote the University’s extensive Diversity and Inclusion and Respect work via a multi-channel approach (including internal and external channels, news outlets, social and digital platforms).

Responsibilities include:

- Develop integrated communication plans for a range of Office of the Provost initiatives.
- Develop and lead proactive media, communications and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Identify and manage issues with potential impact to the University’s reputation or issues that may impede the University’s ability to achieve strategic objectives

**About You**

You are an established communications professional with diverse experience and a passion for Diversity and Inclusion and people-focused initiatives. Your highly-developed emotional intelligence and communication skills empower you to work effectively and diplomaticaly with a diverse range of stakeholders, influencing outcomes and driving culture change through your ability to understand and interpret their needs and provision of expert advice.

You will also have:

- Demonstrated substantial work experience within relevant marketing and communications field and tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, finance, business or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated successful delivery of strategic communications activities within a large and complex organisation.
- Ability to work with and manage ambiguity and considerable experience providing strategic counsel in the best interests of the institution.
- To ensure the University continues to provide a safe environment for everyone, this position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check._
