**What can you expect?**
An opportunity has arisen for a **Claims Consultant** to join our **NSW Public Sector claims team**, based in Sydney. You will handle a portfolio of general insurance claims for government clients, with a focus on liability claims.
More specifically, you will be responsible for:
- End to end management of a portfolio of Public Liability, Professional Indemnity, Property and other general insurance claims;
- Setting claims estimates, investigating claims, managing claims costs, and negotiating with a variety of third parties;
- Building and maintaining rapport with clients;
- Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as brokers, underwriters and reinsurers.

**We will count on you to**:
**Service Clients**
- Meets service levels set out in our claims handling agreements;
- Respond to queries from clients, service providers and reinsurers;
- Prepare claims review reports; attend client meetings.
**Administer Claims**
- Registering of new claims and processing of other claims related information in claims management system;
- Prepare and send routine correspondence and other documents to clients and third parties;
- Making payments to clients, claimants and service providers.
**Provide claims solutions**
- Drive the settlement negotiation process and negotiate claims on behalf of clients;
- Protect clients’ in determining resolutions to claims issues.
**What you need to have**:
- Completed HSC, or at least 12 months experience working in an office environment;
- Good written and oral communication skills;
- A strong customer service approach;
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and be able to work flexibly when required.
- Ability to work in Australia.
**What makes you stand out?**
The following, while not required, would be highly regarded:
- Previous experience managing public liability claims;
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, such as Law, Business/Commerce, Loss Adjusting or ANZIIF studies;
- Previous client facing experience.
