The Department for Trade and Investment (DTI) helps industry ecosystems and businesses identify and capitalise upon opportunities for job creation and economic growth. **The Role(s)**:
This is a key leadership and management role within the Planning and Land Use Directorate that is responsible for the development and implementation of innovative solutions to building related matters that impact development in South Australia and the statutory development system. The key focus areas for this role include leading:

- A responsive culture that delivers key programs or projects.
- Stakeholder management and engagement.
- Effective resources management.
- Implementing reform.

The role reports to the Manager, Building Policy and Programs and will liaise extensively with PLUS executive, senior management and provides support and guidance to less experienced professional and administrative staff. It will also provide advice to Ministers on matters relevant to the role. The person will network, liaise, and engage with a wide range of stakeholders across Commonwealth, State and local government, the private sector (including industry bodies) and the general public.

**About You**:
To be successful in this position, you must be able to demonstrate experience across the following key capabilities:

- Determining and managing the professional standards, objectives and priorities of assigned programs, projects, assets, systems and/or services that are consistent with the agency’s objectives, including leading and managing change initiatives.
- Managing the resources and implementation of new and high-level programs and/or major investigations of significant importance to the state to satisfy the government’s objectives or agencies corporate goals.
- Providing expert specialised advice and consultancy to senior management, external stakeholders, and inter-agency committees regarding current relevant developments in the discipline and their potential implications to agency policies and strategic plans.
- Contributes to a high standard of customer service for internal and external clients and quality management and risks.
- Actively participate and contribute to responsible and safe work practices.
- Embrace diversity and cultural differences in the workplace.

**Desirable Qualifications**:

- A recognised degree or recognised post graduate qualification in architecture, engineering, building surveying, construction management, building or related discipline.

**Special Conditions**
- Successful applicants may be required to obtain a satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check prior to employment. A renewal will be required every 3 years.
- Current driver’s licence.
- May be required to work out of normal hours from time to time.
- The position is offered on an ongoing basis

**Remuneration**:
PO4 $107,448 - $116,936
