The Children’s Health and Wellbeing Local is a new innovation interdisciplinary service that provides support, navigation and therapy that considers all aspects of a child’s life from 0-11 years. The service provides wellbeing support, care coordination and therapeutic intervention to help children where there are concerns about developmental, behavioural and mental health. The Children’s Local Service is combined between community health, mental health, and family support services. The Children’s Local Service is based in Cranbourne with spoke sites throughout Greater Dandenong, Casey and Cardinia.
**About the Role**
Working as part of an interdisciplinary team, the Access and Engagement Clinician will be responsible for providing high quality service for children from 0-11 years and their families through skilled triage and assessment, service navigation, care coordination, transition follow up and consultation to internal and external stakeholders. They will support the team to achieve maximal operational effectiveness and create strong partnerships within and outside of Monash Health.
The Access and Engagement Clinician Grade 3 will:
- Demonstrate leadership and provide high quality services to children 0-11 years and their families
- Provide seamless coordination of clinical and operational activities including skills in organisation, planning and priority setting
- Lead the intake, triage, assessment and engagement for children and their families
- Demonstrate high quality assessment of risk and prioritisation and understanding of when to seek support or guidance
- Support and facilitate navigation for children and families who do not meet eligibility criteria
- Demonstrate leadership skills, including ability to lead during times of change
- Work collaboratively as a member of the Children’s Local Service to implement and imbed the new program and model of care
- Commitment to continuous quality improvement

To ensure your success in this role, you will have the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:
- Qualification in Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy or Social Work
- Signifcant experience in your field including specicialist clinical knowledge in child development and/or mental health
- Understanding of current, relevant theory, practice knowledge and evidence in clinical practice
- Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team
- Dedicated to safe best practice and quality care
- Committed to the delivery of patient centred care and patient advocacy
- Australian working rights
- Current Drivers Licence
