The Manager of the Health Safety and Wellbeing Strategy Team is an exciting and critical role that leads a collaborative, high performing team of policy experts and specialist professionals. This role is suitable for a highly capable leader who has proven experience designing and implementing data-driven and evidence-based health, safety and wellbeing strategy, policy and projects based on co-design with stakeholders. This leader will demonstrate an ability to motivate others, build team commitment, influence key stakeholders and establish a healthy and safe team culture that enables the team to continuously improve and thrive.

**Key accountabilities of this role include**:

- Leadership and management of a high performing team including clearly defining role expectations, providing timely and constructive feedback, facilitating employee development, recruitment and work planning
- Lead the design, development, procurement and implementation of policy, projects and strategies for our principals, school and corporate employees including piloting innovative initiatives that improve health, safety and wellbeing, improve workers' compensation performance and reduce school workload in health and safety compliance
- Current priorities (that may evolve over time) include delivering the Safe and Well in Education Strategy (the Strategy) and the Safe and Well in Education Framework(the Framework) including a strong focus on monitoring and evaluating health and safety outcomes, designing data strategies and governance structures and writing new health, safety and wellbeing strategic documents.
- This role uses the policy cycle to examine, plan, procure, deliver and evaluate strategic policy for key health, safety and wellbeing risks facing our school and corporate employees. Policy and strategies need to consider systemic organisational factors, team factors as well as the unique context and needs of individuals
- Strong project management skills and the ability to oversee project governance, reporting and evaluation of reforms and projects
- Oversee the promotion and strategic communications of the ESWI Division initiatives
- Collaborating with other teams in the ESWI Division to provide fit-for-purpose data systems, strategic data analysis, and leading reporting, evaluation and assurance functions.
