**About the Opportunity**:
Strathfield Council is seeking a motivated Parks Team Leader to lead one of Council’s parks teams in the maintenance of Council’s parks and open space areas.

This role provides the opportunity to lead a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the general maintenance and presentation of Council’s parks and open space areas.

The role entails the following:

- Co-ordinate the conduct of routine tasks in relation to one parks team by allocating tasks and appropriate resources to team members and horticulturists.
- Supervise the team in maintaining Council’s parks and ensure all members are gainfully and productively engaged at work.
- Assist with various tasks, projects and responsibilities of parks services to achieve department objectives.
- Ensure routine cleaning and maintenance of Council’s vehicles, plant, equipment and tools used for operational activities.
- Comply with Council’s value statement and guidelines at all times as outlined within our Code of Conduct.
- Co-ordinate the conduct of routine tasks in relation to the Operations Team by allocating tasks and appropriate resources to deliver services to Council standard;
- Comply with and maintain agreed service standards as per rostered maintenance programs;
- Maintain vehicles, plant, equipment and tools used for operational activities and have all that is needed for work ready to go for the next day at the end of each working day.

***About You**:

- You will enjoy working outside in the fresh air amongst astonishing open spaces. You will feel a sense of reward from leading your own team in completing in their tasks which ensures our parks and open spaces are well-maintained for our communities’ appreciation.
- You will have completed a minimum Certificate III in Horticulture and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience. You will have successful working experience in the supervision and leadership of small teams.
- You will have experience and sound knowledge of natural resource principles and management practices.
- You will have an AQF Level 3 Chemical Certificate
- You will have a current NSW Class MR Driver’s Licence.
- Successful experience in the supervision and leadership of small teams.

- Possess and maintain a level of physical fitness sufficient to undertake the activities. Demonstrated ability to meet Budget KPI’s.
- Demonstrated organisational skills to manage multiple tasks, exercise initiative and meet deadlines.
- Sound level of verbal, numeracy, written and computer skills (Excel and Word Software Programs).
- Experience working in a Local Government (DESIRABLE)
