Strathfield Council (Council) is a medium sized Council located in Sydney’s Inner West. The area of the Council comprises approximately 14 square kilometres and has an estimated population of 46,000 residents, which is growing at 2.5-3% annually. Based on NSW Government projections, the population will increase to over 80,000 by 2036.
About the Role
Strathfield Council has a great opportunity for a Stormwater Maintenance Team Leader to join our Operations department on a permanent, full-time basis.
The purpose of the role is to assist in maintenance of Council’s stormwater network.

About You
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Year 12 higher school certificate or above or equivalent specialist skills.
- Experience in concreting and general labouring including but not limited to concrete finishing, paving, road works, asphalting and drainage works.
- Ability to carry out labouring work.
- Ability to apply multi-skilling in the workplace.
- Effective communication skills both orally and written.
- Hold a valid HR driver licence.
- Hold a certificate for General Induction for construction work in NSW.
- Hold a Traffic Control ticket.
- Demonstrated experience working with WHS requirements.
- Experience in driving and operating road sweeper. (Desirable)
- Experience in operation of Backhoe, Skid Steer and Roller. (Desirable)
- First Aid certificate. (Desirable)
