The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the Council's stormwater network, ensuring the efficient and effective management of water resources.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the maintenance of the Council's stormwater network, including the identification and resolution of issues related to drainage, flooding, and water quality.
- Collaborate with the Operations team to develop and implement strategies for improving stormwater management, including the design and implementation of new infrastructure and systems.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to staff on stormwater management practices and procedures.
- Conduct site inspections and assessments to identify areas for improvement and develop recommendations for upgrades and maintenance.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, and community groups, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Year 12 higher school certificate or above or equivalent specialist skills.
- Experience in concreting and general labouring, including concrete finishing, paving, road works, asphalting, and drainage works.
- Ability to carry out labouring work and apply multi-skilling in the workplace.
- Effective communication skills, both orally and written.
- Hold a valid HR driver licence.
- Hold a certificate for General Induction for construction work in NSW.
- Hold a Traffic Control ticket.
- Demonstrated experience working with WHS requirements.
- Experience in driving and operating road sweepers (desirable).
- Experience in operating Backhoes, Skid Steers, and Rollers (desirable).
- First Aid certificate (desirable).
