**Location: South Pacific & Philippines Office with three (3) fixed work from home days**

**Overview**
As part of a collaborative international team, you will contribute to the broader goal of increasing public awareness and understanding of Rotary through public relations and marketing strategies; and increasing member engagement and club capacity by developing regionally appropriate tools and materials.

This role requires a professional with an entrepreneurial spirit; creative approach to communications; regional understanding, knowledge of emerging communications platforms; ability to challenge and improve existing processes; and a sincere passion for Rotary’s work to improve the lives of people around the world.

With the approval from the Rotary International Board of Directors, a Regionalisation pilot is being implemented over a three-year period across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands (Zone 8). This role will support the Regional Council in its communication to various stakeholder groups throughout the pilot period; and through its Public Image Portfolio Chair in enhancing member engagement and expanding our reach through Communications and Public Image.

**You Will Have**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Marketing, communications, journalism or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in marketing, advertising, communications, PR or other related field
- 1 - 2 years of experience creating, localizing or editing timely content; this can include media messages, op-eds, talking points, or materials somehow designed to influence broad audiences

**You Will Be Responsible For**
- Leveraging on regional knowledge and research insights to develop a regional marketing strategy and plan that aligns with Rotary’s overall strategic goals and plans
- Localising and implementing regional marketing campaigns and other materials to support Regionalisation
- Contributing to the design and implementation of tailored communications and branding strategies that increase the impact of Rotary’s events, publications, projects, and initiatives
- Developing and implementing strategic media relations programs (encompassing traditional, online and social media), brainstorming story angles and approaches with the Government relationships, public image and partnerships Portfolio Chair of the Regional Council.
- Cultivating strong relationships with top tier international and national print, broadcast and digital outlets that result consistent placements that contain strong Rotary messaging
- Producing strong and engaging story-enhancing collateral materials for the media, including news releases, op-eds, fact sheets, visual assets (broll/still photos)
- Participating or leading team projects in a manner that fosters creativity and participation while meeting objectives, timelines and goals
- Providing onsite and offsite support for events and media opportunities
- Identifying, preparing and coaching Rotary spokespeople for media interviews; providing briefings, key messages and answers to anticipated questions to enable the spokesperson to effectively and favorably represent Rotary
- Formulating accurate and timely responses to media inquiries that meet journalists’ story objectives and deadlines
- Monitoring regional, national and international news to identify opportunities for Rotary coverage;
- Managing partnerships with marketing and public relations consultants (freelancers/agencies)
- Providing consultation and training to local Rotary clubs, districts and zones for planning successful public facing events, i.e. webinars, PowerPoint presentations
- Representing the Communications team in projects and initiatives as assigned
- Providing regular reports of media relations activities and coverage
- Supporting Zone and Regional Leaders and clubs with training, toolkits and other resources.
