Our industry-leading client is seeking a Purchasing Officer to join their friendly team in Dandenong South. As a Purchasing officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the purchasing and inventory management processes, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation.
**Responsibilities**:
- Purchasing Support:
- Assist Sales & Warehouse with product purchasing, planning, forecasting, and shipment schedules.
- Conduct sales analysis and contribute to inventory control measures to avoid stock shortages.
- Collaborate with the sales team to provide stock movement analysis, reporting, and purchase order quantity recommendations.
- Purchase Order Management:
- Generate purchase orders, delivery instructions, and goods receipting in the system, while calculating costs accurately.
- Follow up on goods receipt and obtain proof of delivery.
- Maintain records of goods ordered and receipted for HACCP purposes, product costs (using Excel), and supplier information.
- Inventory Management:
- Support the company's sales forecasting process.
- Assist in the replenishment/ordering process and contribute to maintaining safe stock levels.
- Prepare reports on purchasing and inventory usage.
- Import/Export Coordination:
- Liaise with customs agents and other third-party providers as secondary support.
- Coordinate shipment of goods and shipping documentation for AQIS compliance.
- Assist in liaising with AQIS to ensure a smooth import process.
- Other Responsibilities:
- Monitor shipment ETA's and work with the Inventory Manager & Suppliers to reduce delivery lead times.
- Take part in company-wide stock-take activities.
- Assist in various ad-hoc projects as required.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, finance, or related field preferred.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of purchasing processes, policy, and systems.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate, establish, and process contracts.
- Must be proficient in both Chinese and English
- Strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
- Accurate and precise attention to detail.
