**About the team**
Our Environment & Sustainability branch seeks a climate change manager to develop and implement climate adaptation and resilience responses for the Transport Cluster. The successful applicant will deliver priorities and objectives under the NSW Climate Change Adaptation Strategy by leading a transport network-wide climate risk and vulnerability assessment and developing adaptation plans.
The Sustainability Section is the centre-of-excellence for climate change response for mitigation and adaptation. This includes co-ordinating, developing and implementing the central climate change policy and strategy for the Transport Cluster to drive best practice mitigation, climate risk, adaptation and resilience responses across the organisation, transport network and services. The Sustainability section collaborates with NSW Government and key stakeholders to co-ordinate and drive improvement in net zero and climate resilience outcomes.
**The opportunity**
Right now, we have a fixed term opportunity (up to 4-years) available for Climate Change Manager to join the Sustainability section within the Safety, Environment and Regulation Division. This role provides strategic climate adaptation advice on the development and delivery of climate change adaptation and resilience initiatives to drive best practice across Transport.
Operating in a Hybrid capacity - the Climate Change Manager is expected to build key stakeholder relationships, working collaboratively across the Cluster and sharing knowledge and information.

**About you**
You are a passionate sustainability professional looking for an opportunity to work collaboratively and independently to influence and solve complex climate change-related issues across the Transport Cluster.
To be successful in this role, you must have the following:
- Relevant qualification and experience in climate adaptation, climate science, environmental science or engineering, project management, or a relevant discipline.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and extensive experience managing multidisciplinary stakeholder relationships.
The following attributes are highly desirable:
- Relevant education, qualification or experience in flooding, coastal erosion, bushfires, and natural disaster risks, including how this pertains to Transport infrastructure and operations.
- Experience with writing, designing visuals and in-person science communication with the construction industry, regional and metropolitan communities, industry, and climate peak bodies
- Relevant education, qualification or experience in spatial sciences, GIS systems and modelling in a related discipline
- Relevant education, qualification or experience in statistical modelling, econometrics, computer-based modelling, data analysis and interpretation, software programming and coding
- Understanding and respect of Aboriginal cultural protocols and cultural competency, willingness to listen and learn from diverse communities and cultures
**Salary and Benefits**
This role is a Transport Services Grade 9 position ($142,178 - $159,238 per year, plus superannuation and leave loading)
