Metering and Asset Management Lead

**The role**:
We're excited to be recruiting for this newly developed role within our Metering team. Reporting to the Metering Manager and working closely with the supportive and dynamic Digital Field Services team, the Metering and Asset Management Lead will implement effective asset management processes, practices and systems that contribute to the financial stability and efficiency of the organisation, ensuring that both mechanical and digital IoT devices are acquired and aligned with strategic goals.
In this role, your key areas of focus will be:
- Safeguarding the organisation's assets, optimising costs, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and policies, utilising your expertise and knowledge in metering (including IOT devices) and asset management.
- Working with relevant stakeholders and teams, you will oversee, manage and develop the Device Issues Management process including metering incidents in line with the Corporate Incident Management Framework.
- You will triage and monitor IOT device and analogue meter related issues and performance, undertaking root cause analysis, deriving and implementing processes to optimise risk and performance, lifecycle costs.
- You will contribute to the research, investigation and selection of new devices, reporting and issues management, complex metering cases, compliance programs, together with responding to requests regarding device performance and maintenance functions.

With a background in asset management and experience in utility metering and IoT device management, you're well equipped to take on the challenge of this unique opportunity.
- Relevant tertiary qualification/s in engineering, technology, or a trade
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical documents including legislation, standards, codes of practice and technical specifications
- A sound knowledge of standards, procedures and legislation applicable to customer water metering and/or IoT communications
- Ability to provide highly technical advice in relation to device management and the maintenance of the customer metering network
- IoT Device Management experience including issue investigation and rectification
- Knowledge of systems, data integration and processes to enable troubleshooting of device issues
- Strong communication skills with confidence to facilitate, influence and negotiate with multiple stakeholders in often complex situations
- Demonstrated analytical, judgement and resolution skills and have an investigative aptitude to follow a problem from its inception to solution
- Advanced MS Office Skills and high capability in utilising computer-based databases for data analysis, and retrieval
- Knowledge of utility operations would be advantageous as well experience in Incident Control and/or Metering Infrastructure is highly desirable.
