About the Role
The position of Accreditation and Implementation Manager within the Multicultural Child and Family Program (MCFP) which provides statutory out of home care, is a highly responsible, professional position that coordinates, oversees, and plans and leads the MCFP accreditation requirements and contributes to meeting the National Child Safe Principles.
The position will facilitate implementation approaches to design work activities (projects), collate practice evidence, work collaboratively with SSI stakeholders, influencing completion of timely deliverables. The position designs and oversees work activities across teams, assesses and analysis information, provides guidance, analysis within innovative child and family framework and makes decisions demonstrating high degree of accuracy.
The position is required to work with staff to review practices, share and influence knowledge and service delivery to facilitate operational and organisational practice evidence that meets the NSW Child Safe Standards for Permanent Care; the National Child Safe Standards; the NSW OCG Code of Practice (due December 2023); DCJ Contract requirements as well as relevant legislation and regulation.
Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Deliverables
- The role requires well-developed organisation and communication skills including excellent time management. The role works autonomously, influencing and oversee staff and coordinate all accreditation and certification activities for the Program, organisation and Board.
- Lead OCG recommendations to improve practices such as codes, standards, policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Contribute to delivering learning and development activities to staff and carers to increase understanding, knowledge and skills in carrying out meaningful practices.
- Develop an Accreditation Renewal Plan for the organisation which is aligned with the Strategic Plan and associated action plans for the organisation accreditation requirements.
- Day-to-day management of the operational processes for accreditation.
- Undertake project work to continuously improve accreditation policies, processes, and systems.
Essential Criteria
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with experience in coordinating small teams or committees.
- At least five years prior experience in NSW OOHC including exposure to an accreditation role or similar.
- Experience managing projects and change.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the multicultural sector including relevant government policies and programs.
- Prior experience in the implementation and/or interpretation of policies and procedures and/or codes and standards.
