**2023 - Catalogue Manager & Collection Acquisitions**

**Role**:
Work as part of a team that reports to the Teacher Librarian. Due to the small nature of the Library/ Learning Resource Centre team, this role is expected to complete a range of tasks with mínimal supervision. They play a vital role in the management, maintenance, and access of library and information resources for staff and students. This role requires the supervision of students during library time and study periods.

**2024 - LRC Co-Leader**

In 2024 we transition away from a teacher librarian as the library leader, and two ES1:3 staff will co-lead the library, including all of its functions and programs. The technical work outlined in the interim position for 2023 will also be required of the Library Co-Leader.

**Role**:
As a member of the Mac.Rob Library Resource Centre team, this position (in partnership with another librarian) is responsible for the provision of information services to support the teaching, learning and research activities of students and staff at Mac.Rob. In addition, the Librarians will build an LRC program that grows the school’s love of reading and learning by developing community and school programs. The position also includes providing a range of frontline library services, including supporting the International Baccalaureate’s Diploma Program Extended Essay, and supporting academic integrity learning modules at the school.

**2023 - Catalogue Manager & Collection Acquisitions**

**Responsibilities**:

- Catalogue management - create/import, manage, maintain, and update library resource records and systems through cataloguing and classification.
- Processing of resources - physically preparing resources for shelving and circulation including: barcoding, classification stickers, RFID tags, contacting, date slips, property stamps etc.
- Knowledge of library management system AccessIT and its procedures.
- Delivery of circulation services, including loans, returns, resource listing, and upholding Library policy.
- Assisting students and teachers with reference queries, web and database searches.
- Library Desk duties including student and staff assistance, reference and supervision Library before school, throughout the school day (including before school, recess, lunch and after school).
- Collection maintenance including shelving, collation of display material and general appearance of collection.
- Demonstrate knowledge in a wide range of digital technologies and platforms including library systems, software and technical equipment.
- Develop, promote and present programs, including displays and library tours. This could include presenting in front of whole cohorts of students (in the presence of VIT registered teachers)
- Work collaboratively with English teachers to lead reading lessons.
- Supervise Library assistants and student volunteers in the undertaking of library tasks.
- Lead, in collaboration with the other library staff, students, and the broader staff a special project to expand the collection in the library that builds a love of reading.

**2024 - LRC Co-Leader**

**Position responsibilities**:

- Lead an innovative, welcoming and enriching Information Resource Centre that embodies the school values and supports the school to achieve its strategic priorities.
- Lead and support enrichment activities to support a love of reading and research including, the development of a yearly LRC-based program building love of reading and learning at the school including (but not limited to): Book Week, Premier’s Reading Challenge, Guest Authors, Literature Circles, clubs, community events etc
- In consultation with staff and students build and maintain a relevant, inclusive collection that meets the needs of the school
- Provide and organise a range of frontline LRC related services
