**The role**

An exciting opportunity is now available on a full time fixed term (18 months) contract covering maternity leave in DevelopmentWA’s Legal and Risk team.

As the Quality and Compliance Officer reporting to Risk and Internal Audit Analyst you will provide quality assurance and co-ordinate the 101 training program to assist the business in understanding the DevelopmentWA frameworks and procedures that underpin the foundations of the organisation.

The key objective of this role is to assist the Risk and Internal Audit Analyst to manage designated risk and compliance activities to ensure integrity, quality and knowledge management is maintained at the highest level. It is pivotal that the person fulfilling the role builds strong relationships across DevelopmentWA and has excellent communication skills that instils transparency and accountability.

Key responsibilities for the position include:

- Maintain the online Procedures Manual, including embedded linkages to ensure high quality.
- Proactively work with business to support the periodically review of the procedures contained in the Procedures Manual to ensure that it accurately reflects current DevelopmentWA business processes.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects providing high-level analysis, tracking milestones and target dates for quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure insurance claims are processed in a timely manner and provide support in the annual insurance policy renewal process.
- Troubleshoot business process problems raised by the business by determining the source, advising on the appropriate course of action and escalate unresolved queries to the next level of support.
- Monitor training attendance and provide quarterly updates to the business.

**About you**

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills, experience and attributes:

- Minimum of three years’ experience working in a quality or compliance function, preferably within the government sector and/or property development.
- Experience in developing and delivering training programs
- A proven ability to process insurance claims and working knowledge of project management principles and practices.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills with a high degree of confidence in using Excel and Word
- High level analytical skills with excellent data entry experience accompanied with strong attention to detail.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
