**The Role**

SBS is seeking an exceptional individual to lead our payroll and rostering function as our Head of Payroll, Rostering and Compliance. Reporting to the Director of People & Culture the Head of Payroll, Rostering and Compliance plays a critical role in supporting and overseeing the end to end payroll, rostering and reporting function for SBS. You will continue to evolve and transform our payroll and rostering function towards increased automation and self service whilst enhancing in person support and delivering amazing employee experiences to SBS employees. You will be someone who relishes a challenge, thrives on change and believes in the importance of quality processes to drive effective outcomes. Essential in this role is the ability to marry a highly process and compliance driven function with inspirational people management and a deep appreciate for the importance of customer service and quality resolutions. You will not be afraid to be hands on when needed, but understand the importance of delegation and engaging your team to get the right results. Responsibilities of the role include:

- Oversight of the end to end payroll process and employee lifecycle
- Oversight of the rostering and workforce management process
- Management of a team of payroll, rostering, reporting and compliance specialists
- Maintaining and enhancing the stability and integrity of the SBS payroll function
- Ownership of the People & Culture reporting regime including quarterly and annual reporting
- Ensuring that the SBS People & Culture operations comply with all relevant, tax, payroll and employment regulations
Ensuring that the SBS rostering outputs are compliant with the SBS Enterprise Agreement
- Contributing as a member of the P & C senior leadership team
- Vendor management of our payroll and rostering system providers

- Excellent stakeholder management
- Deep understanding of payroll and legislative compliance obligations
- Experience with time and attendance management
- Experience with the Aurion payroll system is desirable but not essential
