About the team and role

An opportunity exists to join a top performing collaborative interstate team. While the preference is Bendigo you can also be based in Docklands or Adelaide

Agri Knowledge and Insights team provides timely analysis and insights which empower our staff, customers and partners to make informed decisions. The team also manage Profarmer Australia and Australian Crop Forecasters subscription services and plays an important role in building and supporting the profile of Rural Bank in partnership with the engagement team and our front-line commodity experts. Agri Knowledge and Insights contribute across Rural Bank’s strategic focus areas of Sustainable Growth, Leadership and Generation Agriculture.

**Purpose of role**:
Ensuring alignment to BEN’s Climate Action Plan, the role will collaborate across the business using analytical methodologies and tools to generate sophisticated insights on conditions impacting the agricultural sector such as production cycles and market pricing and also build awareness of the risks and opportunities of climate change for our agribusiness and assist with identifying action plans to mitigate those risks and capitalise on opportunities, for the business and our customers.

Using data interpretation and clarification, the analyst will present content in an easily accessible format to a range of audiences, so that it can be used to make informed business decisions. The role will also ensure integrity of all data sets and that insights are delivered on time, are accurate and of a high quality. Identifying opportunities to improve the depth of data and insights coverage and implementation of these will see you refine the role and make it your own.

About you

Knowledge and experience within the Australian agricultural industry is essential, as is a genuine interest in the field of climate change and sustainability
Experience within carbon & climate change highly regarded
Exceptional analytical skills and an ability to identify unique insights.
Highly proficient with Excel and preferably other analytical tools including PowerBI and SQL.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong report writing skills for online and marketing content
Self-starter, work with minimum supervision
Attention to detail, pride in quality of information to clients and stakeholders.
Sound judgment skills.
Ability to present data in user friendly formats.
Demonstrated experience in an economic or agriculture related field, including experience in the research, analysis and written presentation of economic or business insights.
Experience within the Financial Services industry is desirable
