Reference: VG/-50933253/Please note: Due to Machinery of Government changes under Section 30 of the Public Administration Act (PPA), effective 1 January 2023, your employment will be with the Department of Transport and Planning. Corporate Services, including payroll, will be provided by Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action while a process for the formal transfer of staff in impacted areas is implemented.

The Policy Officer will work as part of a high performing team to contribute to the delivery of key government reforms to Victoria's building and plumbing systems. Working in a dynamic environment, the role will contribute to several projects designed to improve building outcomes for the industry, practitioners and consumers. This includes supporting the development of policy options, assisting with drafting of regulatory changes, preparing briefings and correspondence for Ministers and executives, and working across a wide range of government, industry and consumer stakeholders to achieve effective building policy and regulatory outcomes.

**Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications**
- Experience in the development of policy, legislation and/or regulations, in a State or Commonwealth public service setting is desirable.
- A tertiary qualification in law, public policy, economics or a related discipline is desirable.

**This is a fixed term position available for a period of 6 months. The work location for this position is 150 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.**
