The Catholic Schools Office (CSO) is responsible for the leadership, operation and management of systemic schools which educate more than 21,000 students in 44 primary schools, 11 secondary schools, one K-12 school, one flexible learning centre and one special school in the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.

The Assistant Head School Improvement is a member of the CSO's leadership team and ensures effective collaboration with all CSO, Diocesan and Shared Services colleagues.

The Assistant Head School Improvement leads the school improvement team in supporting and improving organisational culture, leadership and performance across schools. This role will ensure effective collaboration with diocesan colleagues and support to schools to ensure continuous improvement of educational outcomes for students.

Collaborate with the Head of Data and Analytics to ensure accuracy in learning and wellbeing data that informs the schools in their progress.

This position is a member of the CSO Leadership team, whose role is to foster positive culture that drives and encourages high performance, collaboration, agility, accountability and trust.

**EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA**
- Practising Catholic, with a clear understanding of contemporary issues in the Catholic Church and a personal commitment to Catholic education and the mission of Catholic schools and the Catholic Church
- Demonstrated high level capacity to initiate, develop, evaluate, and coordinate planning, monitoring, and reporting practices to drive improvement and success for every student
- Exceptional leadership qualities and a substantial record of achievement and commitment to effectively using data, leading effective professional learning communities, and delivering quality learning outcomes for all students in line with the school improvement agenda.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, ability to manage a range of competing priorities, and demonstrated abilities in mentoring, communication, relationship building and conflict resolution
- Demonstrated experience in interpreting analytics, with a strong understanding of business performance reporting metrics.
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills, along with excellent written and oral communication skills, committed to delivery to agreed timelines.
- Proven experience in leading and managing teams to achieve their goals.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Postgraduate qualifications or an equivalent combination of experience, training, and achievement
- Level E Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead
- Active NESA Accreditation
- Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) number

**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**

Salary is in accordance with Catholic Schools Office, Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle Employees Enterprise Agreement 2019.
