**The role**
The **Project Officer Aboriginal Land Strategy** is responsible for administering land dealings with Aboriginal communities, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation such as the Native Title Act 1993, Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983, and Crown Land Management Act 2016. This role includes partnering with Aboriginal communities to manage projects that facilitate the effective use and stewardship of their land assets.
You will be responsible for managing the transfer of land from the Crown Land estate to Aboriginal communities, prioritising competing priorities in a high-volume environment, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of changing legal practices. This role requires strong research, analysis, and communication skills to develop and deliver projects effectively, while fostering relationships with stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes

**What you will bring to the role**
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with team members.
- Strong problem-solving abilities to navigate complex challenges and adapt to evolving situations.
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills, fostering strong relationships and ensuring empathy and alignment with diverse stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Native Title Act 1993 and the Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983, to ensure compliance and informed decision-making.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively in a high-volume environment.
- Strong research and analytical skills to support project development and implementation, ensuring data-driven decisions
**What is an essential requirement**:
- Current driver’s licence with a willingness and ability to travel
**key knowledge and experience**
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of conveyancing and the Conveyancing Act 1919 and associated regulations and the Real Property Act 1900.
- Understanding of the Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983, Native Title Act 1993, and the Crown Land Management Act 2016.
